Dr. Andres Obeso, MD, is a Staff Physician within the Thoracic Surgery Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Obeso was on faculty at Santiago de Compostela University Clinical Hospital, Spain.

Dr. Obeso received his medical degree from Santiago de Compostela University in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He completed his residency at Hospital Xeral in Vigo, Spain.

In 2018, he was appointed Clinical Associated Professor at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, US.

During his time in different international hospitals, Dr. Obeso has completed more than three thousand surgeries, most of them using minimally invasive techniques. He holds extensive clinical expertise in Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery and robotic procedures.

Dr. Obeso frequently contributes as a reviewer on more than 15 international peer-reviewed journals and has authored important articles and book chapters. He also serves in various leadership roles in several international societies.

Dr. Obeso is interested in surgical innovation and development of new minimally invasive techniques, especially, in the management of lung cancer.

Dr. Usman Ahmad, MD, is Division Chair of Thoracic Surgery within Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Ahmad was a staff surgeon in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, US. He was the director of Thoracic Robotic surgery and assistant director of Lung Transplant programs at Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Ahmad holds a joint appointment with the Taussig Cancer Institute and is Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Ahmad earned his medical degree from the Aga Khan University Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. He completed an immunology and vascular biology research fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine's Vascular Biology and Transplantation program, in New Haven, Connecticut. His internship and residency in general surgery were also completed at Yale, where he also served as the Educational Chief. Dr. Ahmad completed his training in cardiothoracic surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New York Presbyterian - Weil Cornell Medical Center, both in New York, NY.

Dr. Ahmad and his research team focus on studying clinical outcomes in thoracic surgery, thoracic oncology and end stage lung disease. The group is uniquely positioned to study benign and malignant thoracic surgical disorders in lung transplant.

Dr. Ahmad serves in various leadership roles in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, American Association of Thoracic Surgery, and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer.

Dr. Paul Ramia, MD, FRCP, is a Staff Physician within the Radiation Oncology Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Cancer Institute.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr Ramia was a Staff Physician at McGill University Health Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Faculty Lecturer at McGill University.

Dr. Ramia received his medical degree at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and completed his Radiation Oncology residency at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Stereotactic Radiotherapy at McGill University.

Dr. Ramia’s clinical focus includes specialized and conventional radiation techniques for a wide array of benign and malignant diseases.

Dr. Ramia resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and son. In his spare time, he enjoys taking walks with his family, reading novels and playing soccer.

Dr. Ali Saeed Wahla, MBBS, is a Staff Physician within the Pulmonary Medicine Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Hospital Care Institute.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Wahla worked as a consultant physician in the Department of Intensive Care at King Abdul Aziz Medical City, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for a year.

Prior to his role in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Wahla worked as a Consultant Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Lahore, Pakistan. It was here that he co-established the first Interventional Pulmonary program in the country. During this time, he also served as the Director of the Intensive Care Unit, where he established and ran a respiratory therapy training program.

Dr. Wahla received his medical degree from the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, US, where he also completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Wahla completed a one-year fellowship in Interventional Pulmonology.

Dr. Wahla is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with additional specialty certification in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He specializes in advanced pulmonary procedures focused on complex airway and pleural disorders.

Dr. Mohamad H. Masri, MD, is a Staff Physician within the Medical Oncology Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Cancer Institute.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in 2014, he practiced at Florida Hospital and in the Orlando area for nine years. He is American Board Certified in Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Masri earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York and his fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Masri's clinical training focused on the treatment of a wide-range of cancer and solid tumors, as well as hematologic malignancies such as lymphoma, leukemia and bone marrow transplantation. His specialization also included the treatment of benign blood disorders, bleeding and clotting disorders.

Dr. Masri has served on multiple advisory boards in Oncology, including Cardinal Health, Xcenda, NMCR Analytics, MedTrend, Celgene, Incyte and Eisai-Ontak.
